Industrial Equipment
Building things might be seen as one of the defining traits of the human race. It could be said that it is one of the things that sets us apart from the animals. As people have evolved the things we build has grown to a monumental scale. We have progressed from building a simple wooden hut to building skyscrapers. Correspondingly, the equipment we use to build these things has evolved from a simple flint cutting tool to some of the most highly sophisticated industrial equipment.
To build the monumental structures of our modern environment we need the right industrial equipment to do so. To build a skyscraper we need more than a ladder and a hammer. Sufficient foundations need to be put into place using industrial diggers, the steel superstructure needs to be constructed using cranes to move the pieces into place, then welded or riveted together.
The massive container ships that move the goods around the world allowing us to live the lives we now live, need to be built using industrial equipment especially made for the job. A ship’s superstructure does not move from the workshop to the water without the specialist moving equipment specially designed and made to do the job. This moving equipment is based on hydraulic technology and is far more complicated and difficult to operate than any layman can manage. The job requires the skills of a highly skilled operator with all the risks and responsibility that is required of someone in a position of such responsibility.
